The Marine Science Digital & Data Special Interest Group (MDS SIG) of the Challenger Society for Marine Sciences aims to support and develop the UK’s community of marine digital and data experts, and to stimulate marine science digital and data as a whole.

This ‘beta’ website aims to provide or sign-post to a range of information in support of the marine science community covering:

• computing languages
• data and metadata formats
• sources of data and metadata
• software development tools and practices
• usage of data services, tools and technologies
• data management and best practices
• approaches to data analytics
• data visualisation
• developments in the field of marine data science
• training and guidance materials
